life. As a process it involves preparing,
mitigating, responding and recovering from an
emergency. Critical functional components include
planning, training, simulating drills (exercises),

A typical EOC has:
- Communications Systems (telephone, cellular/PCS, NAWAS, Arkansas state radio
system, County and municipal radio systems, Amateur radio, and Satellite)
- Computer equipment with appropriate network connections
- Map displays to show geographic attributes
- Weather tracking equipment
- Projection System
- Static reference data
- Response plans, emergency operation plans, etc.
