Central Communications Central Communications (commonly referred to as CENCOM) is a 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). More accurately, CENCOM is one of four PSAP’s responsible for answering and coordinating 9-1-1 calls within Benton County.

The other three PSAP's are located in Bentonville, Rogers, and Siloam Springs. In Benton County the 9-1-1 system is set up so that 9-1-1 calls are routed to the PSAP responsible for dispatching the ambulance provider or fire department for that particular address or area. CENCOM is responsible for dispatching; 11 law enforcement agencies, 23 fire departments, 3 BLS ambulances as well as 2 ALS aero medical  ambulance services and numerous other emergency service personnel including Coroners, Department of Emergency Management, Environmental Services, Water Rescue, Search & Rescue Team, Sheriff's special operations groups (SWAT, helicopter, dive team, etc.), Department of Human Services personnel, and many more. Other responsibilities include answering the telephones for the majority of these departments after business hours.

In 2005, CENCOM was upgraded with some of the most advanced equipment in the state, which included software and hardware upgrades. Along with state of the art equipment, CENCOM has continuously upgraded its training process to insure that Benton County’s Emergency Dispatchers are some of the best trained in the nation.

It will be the VISION of CENCOM to provide the best possible Equipment, Training and Work Environment to its employees to ensure that our MISSION can be obtained. The MISSION and Vision statements will drive each other for continuous improvement.
